Robert O. Townsend Junior High

National Junior Honor Society

The deadline for completion of this form is Friday, September 13, 2024. The following information is the criteria for membership into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) as determined by the NJHS Faculty Council.

Membership is open to 7th and 8th graders who have a minimum cumulative scholastic grade point average (GPA) of 3.5, have earned no conduct marks below Satisfactory (S) on their most recent report card, and have been attending junior high in CVUSD for a minimum of 6 weeks. The qualities of service, leadership, citizenship, and character weigh heavily into the faculty council's determination of acceptance into the NJHS because we believe that all of the qualities combined with a high GPA are required to create a well-rounded, productive citizen. Students who have been issued office referrals for behavior will automatically be disqualified from consideration for current membership (site administration has the right to review and determine eligibility). If selected to join NJHS, members will be expected to adhere to the bi-laws of the Townsend Junior High School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Please note that not every student will be accepted.

We meet every other Wednesday morning in Mrs. Cuevas' room (304).
