Robert O. Townsend Junior High

Students receive certificates in May for achievement of a 4.0 GPA for the entire school year as well as for achieving a 4.0 in both 7th and 8th grades.  Students also receive recognition for earning a 3.0-3.9 GPA for both 7th and 8th grades.

Students are recognized and celebrated each trimester for their academic accomplishments in a  first and second trimester rally and with certificates in the first and second trimester.   

4.0 = Gold Honor Roll

3. 0 - 3. 9 = Silver Honor Roll

2. 0 - 2.9 = Ranger Pride Honor Roll

BUG = Bringing Up Grades by 0.25 or higher

Students are recognized every trimester with certificates for attending all class periods every day with certificates and a recognition activity. 

Students are recognized at the end of the year with certificates for attending all class periods every day for the entire year, both years of junior high school, and grades 1 - 8 with certificates. 

Students are recognized in each trimester for performing service to school, community, and world with a certificate.  Hours are cumulative throughout the school year, and each award will be issued once when the hours are performed.

Students are recognized in the second trimester and at the end of the year for increasing their LEXILE score as measured by English teachers. 

Each month, staff members select Students of the Month for dispalying the Townsend Expecations of being safe, respectful, and responsible. Recipients are recognized with a certificate and invited to our Student of the Month lunch.
